1. Scope of this policy

This policy explains how Patriot Newswire handles personal information collected through this website, our distribution platform, and our email and telephone correspondence.

It does not cover third-party media outlets that publish your press releases, or any other site you reach from a link here. Those organisations have their own privacy practices.

3. How we use it

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

4. Press release content is published on purpose

A press release is a document you are asking us to publish. Every name, quotation, telephone number, email address and image inside a release you submit will be transmitted to media outlets and may be published by them, indexed by search engines and archived indefinitely by third parties.

Only include personal information in a release that the person concerned has agreed to make public. Once a release is distributed we cannot recall it, and we cannot require a third-party outlet to remove it.

5. When we share information

We share personal information only in these situations:

• Media outlets and distribution partners — release content, in order to perform the service you have asked for.
• Service providers — hosting, email delivery, payment processing, customer support and analytics providers acting on our instructions under contract.
• Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants and auditors where they need it.
• Legal and safety — where we are required by law, valid legal process or a government request, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
• Business transfer — if the business is sold, merged or reorganised, as part of that transaction, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

6. Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, and may use analytics cookies to measure how the site is used in aggregate.

7. How long we keep it

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and afterwards for as long as we need them to meet legal, tax, accounting and dispute resolution obligations — generally seven years for financial records.

Distributed release content is kept as part of the placement record. Marketing contact details are removed promptly when you unsubscribe. Website technical logs are kept for a short period and then deleted or aggregated.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who inside the business can see what.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
